Make Money from Blogging
Blogging is a way to deliver information to readers on the Internet. The word blog comes from the phrase web log which turned into blog. Blogging can be fun, especially if you have a blog about something that interests you.
In general there are two ways that blogs are created and hosted:
+ Via free offerings from LiveJournal, Google's Blogger, WordPress, among others.
+ Using software such as such as WordPressor Movable Type, hosted on a website you pay for.
Blogging is great because many are free, you don't have to know HTML and you don't have to pay for visitors to your blog. The way to make money from blogs is by adding affiliates (types of advertisers – Google being the one of the biggest) and graphic advertising. When a visitor comes to your blog, they and they click on an affiliate link, or you earn a commission when they buy a product. If you choose to to sell advertising too.
Free Blogs
One of the easiest and fastest way to create a job blog is to sign up with one of the free service providers mentioned. They cost you nothing but time and they are a great introduction into the world of blogging or the blogosphere. In simple steps you can create an account, choose a name for your blog, pick out a template and start writing. Some, like Google's Blogger allow you to rewrite their template for your blog.
Blogging Software
More serious bloggers willing to learn blog software will prefer the flexibility free products such as WordPress or Movable Type offer. To be able to use this type of software you will need to register a domain name and a web host.
You can often register a domain name for less than $10 a year. Many web providers specialize in hosting blogs and the easiest way to get started is by using one of the software publisher's recommended web hosts. While the blogging software is free, hosting will cost you a fee each month and for the traffic you receive depending on how popular your blog becomes.
The best thing about blogging is the fact that it automatically draws visitors to your site, since the free blog providers are crawled by search engines on a regular basis. You add information, the search engines come and add it to their search results, and when people search for information they can arrive at your blog. The more information you add to your blog, the more traffic you may get. Also, if you make a really good blog that has information are looking for, then people will bookmark it and come back regularly, maybe even daily. Some may even make use of an RSS feed if your provider offers it.
How to make an income
When it comes to making money from your blog, there are actually multiple streams of income that you can create. Usually people put Google Ads on their page, and earn a percentage of what the advertiser pays per click, when a visitor clicks on the ad. Pay per click advertising programs, are in my opinion, a good way to make money from a blog. Yes, you only make a few cents per click, and from a product you may get a few dollars per sale, but selling products is not as easy as it sounds. Advertisements require no expertise, just content and information that you already know.
What do I write about?
That brings me to my next point, choose your topics wisely. The best thing to do is to make a blog about something you already know, this way you wont lose interest and it will keep you coming up with new ideas all the time. Basically, make a blog about your hobby or something which interests you, like the things you do in your free time, or a topic that you just like to talk about.
The only problem with blogging for profit is that too many people do it wrong and end up getting banned from search engines, or worst yet, their blog host. No visitors means no money, so if that happens then you will lose all of your profits.
Advertising your Blog
We're going to finish this topic up by talking briefly about steps you can take to help advertise your blog and the first thing that comes to mind is linking to your blog from your website or other sites on the Internet. If you visit other blogs and comment on what has been posted, make sure your signature has a link to your blog. Another good way to get your blog noticed is by submitting your blog to directories, news feeds and services specializing in scanning pages of blogs.
If you want to submit to a news feed, Yahoo has an excellent service as does NewsIsFree. Finally Bloglinesis a service that allows you to register to index your blog and search for other related blogs, an important one to remember. Search other blogs for advice and ways to improve your own blog.

A book by Rob Benwell, called Blogging to the Bank, is a great guide that will teach any beginner how to make money from blogs. This means you will save time and frustration of writing a blog, then later getting it banned and removed.
