No Socialized Medicine for Me, Thank You!

Or, Another Reason Why I Hate Stupid People

The debate around a government health plan has again brought out the anti-socialists in droves. Yet, these idiots have absolutely no idea just how much of our country is socialist or has social programs. Don’t think so? If we were to do away with ALL social programs (socialist ideas) in this country we would have to do away with:

  1. Schools: K-12, Colleges, Universities, Community Colleges, and any educaton program getting government money
  2. Hospitals and Clinics
  3. All government funded research, including medical
  4. Police, at all levels: local, state, federal, ...
  5. Prisons
  6. State Parks and Beaches
  7. the entire Military Complex
  8. Courts, the Legal System and Supreme Court (state and federal)
  9. Corporate Welfare (corporations in the U.S. get billions in taxpayer dollars each year)
  10. Welfare, Food Stamps and W.I.C.
  11. Social Security
  12. Medicare & Medicaid
  13. VA Hospital System and Healthcare
  14. Government sponsord healthcare for government employees
  15. Roads, Highways & Sidewalks
  16. Public Transportation
  17. State Children’s Health Insurance Programs
  18. Fire Departments
  19. Emergency Services
  20. the Postal Service
  21. the CDC and all other government Regulatory Agencies
  22. All government funded projects in the private sector
  23. Public Water System
  24. Sewer Treatment Systems
  25. Libraries
  26. Museums
  27. Public Funded Education Programs such as Anti-Drug, Stop Smoking and so on
  28. Zoos
  29. Unemployment Insurance
  30. Garbage Collection
  31. Government Grant programs
  32. Student Loan program
  33. the Internet
  34. All Food and Clothing that gets taxpayer subsidies
  35. Crop subsidies
  36. The Federal, State and Local governments
  37. Homeland Security, the FBI & CIA
  38. whatever else I left out.

Yeah, that’s right. The entire country would shut down. It would have to file bankruptcy for the 11 trillion plus debt it now has and, well, it would just be nothing. No laws, no law enforcement, no healthcare, no rules, just live and hope you survive the chaos kind of country. Got you six-shooter still? Don't forget to pay the toll when driving down the street or walk along any paved sidewalk.

So, the next time someone opens their big fat mouth about not wanting social programs (socialism), punch them in the mouth so they shut up and can’t interrupt you, then read off this list. Then ask them, would you really like to not have social programs? I can almost guarantee, smart people will never again be against social programs. As for the stupid people they can be shipped off to some other country, because we don’t need them here - we have far too many, that includes the ultra-right-wingers, Republicans who could give a shit about the people who voted them, the medical system which cares more about profit than helping people or corporations against change or supporting the people who make this country strong, and what it really is - great.

The private sector would just not be interested in taking over if we didn't have ALL social programs ended, there’s no profit in it for them, they’re greed driven, and it would be too cost prohibitive. Everything would collapse if all social programs were removed tomorrow.

So, I want the government to step in and offer me, and the nearly hundred million people currently uninsured or under insured an option – a Single Payer System – that competes for price and quality of service in healthcare – comprehensive health coverage, eye care, dental and mental health. It would add millions of dollars to the benefit of the entire medical system, from doctors, hospitals to the pharmaceutical companies. They wouldn't go broke if we had a Single Payer System!
