Self Empowerment in Action

If you have ever felt stuck in the same old rut, you probably know the sense of helplessness, a sense of futility which can take over your life. You may want your life to change, but you feel powerless, helpless, directionless to do anything about it. You may feel like something is missing but you just can’t quit put your finger on it. You may find yourself constantly making plans to improve your life, but never quite get around to taking action or seeing results because it seems intimidating, too big or you may feel some piece of the puzzle is missing for you to reach your goal.

Taking action can be intimidate and frightening, it can also be very empowering! If you learn to use empowerment effectively, it can provide the fuel to keep you moving forward in a positive direction toward a more fulfilling life. When you being to do this, you will realize that there was never anything to fear in the first place, and you will never get stuck again.

Three simple steps to show you how to get started:

1) To start the process of self empowerment, first, be sure you understand your life is the way it is right now because of your choices, your hesitation in taking action! This is very important thing to admit and accept, because you will understand the importance of moving forward no matter how anxious it makes you feel at first or fear that may come up.

Decide on one action to take this process of self empowerment. Think about your life right now, ask yourself which situations you want to change first. It may be with your career, the relationships in your life, health, financial situation, or anything else which makes you feel powerless or stuck. Chose one. Then think about one simple action you can take right now to inspire some positive change. It doesn’t have to be huge, just something to inspire you and begin building momentum.

2) Once you have decided on what action you will take, you will have to push through what use to hold you back, no matter what! This may seem incredibly difficult, even impossible, even scary, but remember that most often the thing you fear will not happen. In fact, you may not even have a clear reason for feeling fear – you’re just afraid of some unknown. Give yourself a pep talk and push yourself in a way you have to in order to move forward a little at a time and in no time you’ll have achieved your goal. After you take that very first step, take another and be sure to let go of any expectations of what will happen because of it. Allow yourself to feel great simply because you did something positive! You have begun the process of self empowerment.

3) Repeat this step over and over again. Once you’ve taken one step forward, you will need to pushing yourself to take many more steps. Consider it this way: If you take a hundred or even a thousand very small steps forward this month, you will be putting forth a positive effort toward bringing change into your life, which cannot help but bring about more positive changes! This is self empowerment in action.

The good news is that taking action today begins to build a momentum which keeps you moving in a positive direction. Just as chronic non-action can create a cycle of negativity and stagnation over time, being proactive, empowering yourself, can create a positive cycle that continues to grow! It gets easier the more often you do it, which will eventually become effortless – and you continue to empower and strengthen yourself with every step you take forward.
